TV Synth support

Please include your Apple TV model, tvOS version, TV Synth version, MIDI keyboard model if relevant, and the steps that reproduce the problem. A screenshot can help. Do not send passwords or Apple Account credentials. Review logs and attachments for personal information before sharing them.

Play without a MIDI keyboard

Choose a sound, focus the on-screen keyboard, move left or right to choose a note, then press Select on the Siri Remote. The current release requires tvOS 27 or later.

Connect a MIDI keyboard

  1. Use a keyboard or adapter that supports Bluetooth LE MIDI. A Bluetooth speaker or ordinary wireless computer keyboard is not a MIDI input.
  2. Switch Toddler Mode off to reveal the full interface.
  3. Turn on the MIDI keyboard's Bluetooth mode and keep it near the Apple TV. If another app or device is using it, disconnect that session first.
  4. Open Connect MIDI in TV Synth, allow Bluetooth access when prompted, select the keyboard and connect. Use Rescan if necessary.
  5. If it is not found, check the keyboard's BLE MIDI compatibility and Bluetooth permission in the system controls available on your Apple TV.

No sound or a note that will not stop

Use Panic in the full interface or Stop sound in Toddler Mode. Release the sustain pedal. Check the TV/receiver volume and audio output. Try a factory sound with the remote keyboard to distinguish an audio problem from a MIDI connection problem.

Slow pads need time to swell. Arpeggiators repeat held notes, and Latch can keep a pattern going after a key is released. Delay and reverb may continue briefly after notes stop. The synth limits simultaneous voices to twelve; new notes replace older sounds when the limit is reached.

Save and restore your sounds

Switch Toddler Mode off and open My Presets to save, load, rename, replace or delete sounds. Up to 128 custom presets can be stored. Saving is local first; when iCloud is available, the library can synchronize between Apple TVs using the same Apple Account.

If a preset is missing on another TV, check that both devices use the same Apple Account and can access iCloud, then open TV Synth on both and allow time for synchronization. Contact support if the problem persists. Do not delete/reinstall the app as the first troubleshooting step: unsynchronized local presets could be lost.

Why are notes or chords different?

Key Lock moves notes into the selected musical key and remains active while browsing factory sounds. One-key chord mode and the arpeggiator can generate multiple notes from one key. Check Chords · Key and Arpeggiator in the full interface if you want ordinary chromatic single-note playing.

Toddler Mode

The top-bar selector hides advanced panels and focuses on sound selection and the large live keyboard. Switch it off to edit sounds or manage MIDI and saved presets. It is a simpler interface, not a PIN-protected parental lock.
