VJ Studio privacy policy
ANIMIST OÜ (registry code 14092388, Estonia) provides this app. This policy explains its information handling and our support contact. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to appstore@animist.ee.
Projects and media
VJ Studio stores sessions, scenes, presets, shows, journeys, performance sets, imported media, colour LUTs and Program recordings locally. The app has no developer account, automatic cloud sync or developer analytics endpoint.
Files and Photos are accessed for imports or exports you initiate. A connected external display receives the Program image, not operator controls, consent screens or ads. Exporting or sharing content gives it to the destination you select.
Microphone, camera and video inputs
Optional Live Audio processes microphone samples in memory into controls such as level, frequency bands and beats. Raw microphone audio is not recorded or saved. Denying access leaves the visual generators available; choosing Virtual releases microphone capture.
Camera permission is used when you explicitly connect a compatible external capture-card input. The video receiver does not request audio. OMT discovery begins after Refresh and connects to the sender you choose. These receivers process frames transiently without persisting raw input frames or endpoint identity.
Separately, choosing to record can save the final composited, silent Program output. That recording can contain the selected live video or imported media even though the app does not separately save raw input.
MIDI and local-network controls
MIDI, OSC and OMT are performance connections, not ANIMIST collection endpoints. Operator-enabled network functions exchange addresses, discovery information, video or controls with devices you choose. Use trusted devices and networks.
You can disconnect inputs and revoke microphone, camera, local-network or Photos access in system Settings. Generated visuals remain available when an optional input is unavailable.
Advertising on iPhone and iPad
Google Mobile Ads can display a banner at the bottom of Settings on iPhone or iPad after the applicable consent flow permits a request. There are no ads in Program or Preview content, recordings, external output or Mac Catalyst.
The app disables ad personalization and certain optional Google SDK identifiers and diagnostics, but this does not mean Google processes no information. Google and its partners may process IP-derived approximate location, app or device identifiers, ad interactions and technical data to deliver, measure and secure ads.
Use Privacy Choices in Settings whenever it is offered. Google determines its own retention and partner handling according to the applicable consent state and its notices.
Retention and deletion
Local projects and recordings remain until deleted or removed with app data. Reset Current Session resets the current performance configuration; it does not erase separate libraries or recordings. Remove those through their own library or recorder controls.
Removing app data does not remove content exported to Files or Photos, copies held by recipients, advertising-provider records or system backups. Review media, device information and diagnostic files before sharing them with support.
Support and your rights
If you contact ANIMIST, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond to your request, investigate problems and handle related legal obligations. Our email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it. Do not send passwords, account credentials or unnecessary personal information.
Where applicable, support processing is based on providing the assistance you request and our legitimate interest in resolving issues; legal obligations may require some records. Ask us about retention or deletion of correspondence. A parent or guardian may contact us about information a child has sent to support.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of personal data, or restriction of or objection to processing. You can withdraw consent for future optional processing without changing the lawfulness of earlier processing. ANIMIST can act on information it holds, not private device data or records independently controlled by another provider.
Service providers and international processing
Apple, advertising providers where used, and other services identified above process information under their own privacy notices. Hosting and email services also process data needed to deliver their services. Processing may take place outside your country or the European Economic Area; the applicable service notice describes its arrangements. Contact ANIMIST for questions about providers involved in handling information we hold.
This website and policy changes
This policy page contains no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies of its own. Hosting systems may process IP addresses and ordinary access logs to deliver and secure the page. Website privacy describes statistics used elsewhere on animist.ee.
We will revise this policy when the app or its data practices change and update the date above. Publishing a policy does not mean that every platform version is already available.
