67 Saturation (Colour & Chaos) privacy policy

macOS standalone app and audio plug-ins · Last updated: 1 November 2026

ANIMIST OÜ (registry code 14092388, Estonia) provides this app. This policy explains its information handling and our support contact. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to appstore@animist.ee.

Scope and information handling

67, also called 67 Saturation or Colour & Chaos, is a macOS audio effect. This policy covers the standalone app and its audio plug-ins, including current development builds and App Store-targeted variants where provided. Formats and capabilities depend on the build; this policy is not an announcement of App Store availability.

Audio processing takes place on your Mac. No ANIMIST account is required. The reviewed implementation has no advertising, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, developer-operated cloud service or automatic telemetry uploader. It does not send your audio, preset library or DAW sessions to ANIMIST.

Audio input and host applications

The plug-in processes audio buffers, sound parameters and relevant host timing locally and returns processed audio to its host. Input/output meters are computed locally. The effect does not itself upload or automatically make a recording of the processed audio.

The standalone audio-processing build can use the audio input or microphone selected in its audio settings. macOS may request microphone permission for that input. The input is used for live processing and monitoring, not a remote recording service. You can deny or revoke microphone permission in macOS Privacy & Security settings; live input processing will then be unavailable. A containing app that only manages the plug-in or presets need not expose standalone live input.

A DAW or other host supplies the plug-in's audio and can record or export it, save projects, automate parameters or use its own network and cloud services. Those activities and any host permissions are governed by the host and your settings. 67 does not request contacts, photos, camera or location access for its audio effect.

Presets and locally saved information

Custom .67preset files contain a generated preset identifier, your chosen name, category, optional description and sound parameters. These identifiers distinguish local preset files; they are not advertising or account identifiers. Avoid including personal or sensitive information in preset names or notes if you plan to share them.

The direct-distribution AU, VST3 and standalone builds use a local preset folder under Library/Application Support/Six Seven/67/Presets. Sandboxed hosts can redirect storage to their containers. App Store-targeted builds are configured to use a local App Group preset folder shared by the containing app and its extension; this is not cloud synchronization. The precise location depends on the build and its sandbox.

DAW project state can include the active sound parameters and custom preset identity so projects can restore without the original preset file. A/B comparison snapshots are held for the current editor session; the host saves the active sound. The plug-in does not automatically synchronize libraries through iCloud or ANIMIST. Copies you place in synchronized storage or share yourself are handled by that provider.

Purchases, Apple services and diagnostics

No in-app purchase, subscription, trial-entitlement or developer activation-server implementation was found in the current reviewed source. If a future version adds these features, the policy will be updated. App Store distribution and any store purchase are independently handled by Apple; the app does not ask for payment-card details or Apple Account passwords.

Apple and your host software may separately process installation, purchase, crash or diagnostic information under their own policies and your settings. Error messages shown by 67 about audio or preset files are local; the app does not automatically send those messages or files to ANIMIST. If you send a report to support, only the information you choose to include is received through that correspondence.

Retention and deletion

Live processing buffers and meters are used during operation. Custom preset files remain until removed. Delete in the preset browser moves a file into the library's .Deleted subfolder for recovery rather than immediately erasing it. Undo Delete can restore the last deletion during that browser session. To permanently remove a deleted preset, remove its retained file from .Deleted and any backups you keep.

Removing the app or plug-in does not necessarily remove the separate preset library, shared App Group data, host projects, recordings or backups. Manage those files through Finder, the relevant host and your storage provider. Deleting a preset does not remove parameter state or its identity from projects already saved by a DAW. ANIMIST cannot remotely read or delete data held only on your Mac.

Support and your rights

If you contact ANIMIST, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond to your request, investigate problems and handle related legal obligations. Our email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it. Do not send passwords, account credentials or unnecessary personal information.

Where applicable, support processing is based on providing the assistance you request and our legitimate interest in resolving issues; legal obligations may require some records. Ask us about retention or deletion of correspondence. A parent or guardian may contact us about information a child has sent to support.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of personal data, or restriction of or objection to processing. You can withdraw consent for future optional processing without changing the lawfulness of earlier processing. ANIMIST can act on information it holds, not private device data or records independently controlled by another provider.

Service providers and international processing

Apple, advertising providers where used, and other services identified above process information under their own privacy notices. Hosting and email services also process data needed to deliver their services. Processing may take place outside your country or the European Economic Area; the applicable service notice describes its arrangements. Contact ANIMIST for questions about providers involved in handling information we hold.
